Red Yarn Presents: “The Get-Together” (Family Show)

Acclaimed Portland family performer Red Yarn invites you to “The Get-Together,” a family dance party & album release show where all are welcome! “The Get-Together” is Red Yarn’s tenth family music album in ten years, an inclusive celebration of community, collaboration, human connection & childhood. Inspired by his favorite music of the ’50s & ’60s, “The Get-Together” features Red Yarn & a diverse lineup of guest musicians performing catchy, original, roots-rock songs. Families will be singing and dancing along to these rock’n’roll, doowop and soul inflected tunes.

For the album release show at Crystal Ballroom, Red Yarn will perform with a full band and many special guests, including local R&B legend Arietta Ward, renowned jazz saxophonist Eldon T Jones, Red Yarn’s wife & singing partner Ms. Jessie, their two musical children, and more guests to be announced! Beloved Portland dance party producer DJ Action Slacks will spin an opening set with vintage records from the ’50s & ’60s, and Lauren Kawa Funk of PIVOT PDX will teach retro dance moves to the crowd. Snacks & drinks will be available from McMenamins, and Red Yarn’s creative team will host crafts & other pre-show activities.
